Established in 1900 and home of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, UL Lafayette is the second largest university in the state and is part of the University of Louisiana System, one of the nation's twenty largest public systems of higher education. UL Lafayette has attained the Doctoral/Research-Intensive University status and now has an enrollment of 16,208 students. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a selective admissions school. UL Lafayette offers approximately 61 undergraduate, 29 Masters and 8 Doctorate degree programs in ten colleges and schools, many of which have achieved national prominence.
